Usage of I and Me

I and ME

I and Me, both refer to the speaker.

I
  • Used in sentences where the speaker is main subject of the sentence.
  • Used in sentences where speaker is the doer.
  • It is the first word in the sentence.

Example: l am writing a letter.

ME
  • Used in sentences that say about another person / thing.
  • Speaker is the receiver of action done by another person / thing.
  • Sentence cannot start with Me.

Example: My mother gave me a letter.

Sentence Structure
Sentences that use "I" have this common structure:

"I" + verb (action) + details

I + teach + English.
I + live in + Mysore.
I + am going + to the market.
I + will buy + fruits.

Sentences that use "Me" have this common structure:

Subject + verb (action) + "Me" (details)

Sita + gave + me a gift.
She + baked + a cake for me.
Jake + is visiting + me today.
The doctor + will see + me now.
